Bonafide, a Uruguayan/Argentine bakery (panadería), caters locals with delicious pastries, empanadas, sandwiches ala Rio Platense e.g., Milanesa Napolitana, Matambre, sandwiches de miga, etc. If you're Uruguayan or Argentinian, you're going to fall in love with this place. They have yerba mate, bombillas, gourds, thermo, beverages, flags, jerseys, keychains, wine, sweets, pasta, cheese, etc. all from Uruguay and Argentina. It's a small bakery, with a few seatings here and there. Since, it's a bakery, you may have your eyes set on pastries; but if you're in the mood for a sandwich, their Milanesa Napolitana sandwich will not upset. Best Milanesa Napolitana sandwich, ever. If you're unsure what the Milanesa Napolitana is, it's basically breaded steak with ham, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. At Bonafide, the use a Uruguayan baguette -- making it very authentic. They also have some of the best empanadas around, it's all authentic. Oh, and on weekends, they have a parillada (for one) for only $12.00! This place is a GEM.

Horrible customer service. Parking is OK. Prices are OK. Horrible customer service, mediocre food. My family is from Uruguay... But I'm not a fan of their quality. Nope

I've been here twice and the second time I found A BUG IN THE FACTURA! I'm so mad I didn't take a picture but I was so grossed out that I had to leave immediately. I didn't even tell her to stop making my coffee or anything that's how fast I left, but it was the grossest thing I've ever seen in my life. R.I.P Bonafide bakery. I'm also calling the Miami health department to have them checked out and have already emailed the company letting them know.

Awesome place to eat at any time of the day. The place is small but well organized. The food is delicious especially their "milanesas". In addition, "biscochos" need to take over America because these wonderful Uruguayan pastries make donuts seem unappetizing. In other words, try the biscochos!!

I've heard of it. But when I got there. The people were stuck up. The service was bad. Pure hype.

I am highly surprised this hole-in-the-wall gem hasn't been reviewed before. This bakery is an Argentine style bakery but don't go there for the sweets - go for the sandwiches! They are cheap and heart attack inducing but they will have you licking your fingers and going up to the counter and ordering more. This literally happens every time my friends and I go there for lunch. These sandwiches are called sandwiches de miga - think double/triple layered tea sandwiches. They are made of thin white bread without the crusts and then mayonnaise-y fillings like egg salad or my favorite the tuna salad. Most of the sandwiches have a slice of delicious white cheese and you can get them hot or cold. I am definitely a hot sandwich lover but I stick to the cold here - it gives the sandwich so much more texture as you can taste each crisp cold layer of your sandwich. For starters have the ham and cheese - simple and classic. My friends are crazy for the sandwich de Chocolo - it has cheese and a corn and egg salad. They also have a special of the day sandwich that you have to ask for. It usually involves fresh avocado. They only have so many a day and once they're out, they're out. All sandwiches range between $2 and $3. And don't expect fantastic service - you order at the counter from an elderly Argentine lady who only really talks to you if you speak Spanish, and you grab your own soda from the fridge to eat at cafeteria style tables - but the place is small and quaint, and quick! The only reason I gave this place 4 out of 5 stars is because no matter how much I love these delicious treats I can feel the years slipping away from me because of the clogging of my arteries. But really it is delicious, you will need to train yourself to not go back.
